I can finally officially announce the launch of invent-ed.com our new program that aims to putting teachers at the heart of edtech.
invent-ed.com is a partnership between MediaTaylor and Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR).
Mark Dawe, OCR’s Chief Executive, explains why their involvement ‘Education is about more than just exams, and improving education for teachers and learners is at the heart of what we are trying to do. As a not-for-profit organisation, we want to support schools as they explore new ways of working, encouraging them to be active not passive consumers of educational technology. This complements our campaign to help schools engage with computing, to understand how to make computers work for them, not just use IT programs designed by others.’
With so much going on in edtech right now I was seriously chuffed that invent-ed.com was featured in a lead article written on edsurge, written by their CEO Betsy Corcoran . It says a lot about the UK edtech scene that we have been featured on the most influential US edtech site, but so far have had no coverage or interest from the UK education and tech press (so far).
For any teachers interested in participating, you can find the full details and application form at invent-ed.com.
